Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game

Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game

Last Night on Earth, The Zombie Game is a survival horror board game that pits small-town Heroes head-to-head against a limitless horde of Zombies (players can play on the Hero team or as the Zombies). A modular board randomly determines the layout of the town at the start of each game and there are several different scenarios to play, adding lots of replayability. Fast Paced Game Play with Easy To Learn rules allows players to jump right into the action, while Strategic Depth and Strong Cooperative Play keeps the game interesting.

To achieve a horror movie feel, all of the art for the game is photographic and the game comes with a CD Soundtrack of original music.

To say the central mechanic of this game is to move and shoot is to over simplify the game. Last Night on Earth does an excellent job of portraying every zombie movie in a board game. The players decide who will play the heroes and who will play the zombies. Each scenario has its own win conditions. At the start of the game the zombies clearly have the upper hand, as most heroes start the game unarmed and have a difficult time actually killing a zombie.

Players are deciding where to move, what to do, and how not to get killed. Most scenarios have a clock, and will end in a given number of turns, meaning each turn the heroes are pressured to do something that will count, so cowering in the corner isn't the best option, but neither is facing a zombie horde with no weapons. This game plays equally well as a lite role playing game or as a pure strategy game.
