Carcassonne

Carcassonne

A clever tile-laying game. The southern French city of Carcassonne is famous for its unique Roman and Medieval fortifications. The players develop the area around Carcassonne and deploy their followers on the roads, in the cities, in the cloisters, and in the fields. The skill of the players to develop the area will determine who is victorious.

This is a tile laying game where players have a common pool of tiles to draw from, at random, and then play the drawn tile to add to the existing map. Players score by assigning one of a limited set of wooden token to the tile they just played. They get the token back once the road, building, cloister is complete, which is not always obvious when. Players must decide where to place their tiles, and if they should commit a token to scoring off that tile.
